Description
A pretty, delicate purple flower with a not so pretty name. The Spiderwort (a.k.a. cow slobber) is an edible garden plant. One can eat the leaves, flowers and stems raw or use them in stews and the pretty flowers add a colorful touch to any salad. If you ever come across a Spiderwort, break the tip off a leaf, touch it to your finger and pull back gently. The sap will be like that of spider silk, hence its name
