Artist's Description

Cine El Rey is a landmark in McAllen, Tx. It was build in 1947 and while the seats have been removed, the upper lounge is still there. Cine El Rey was the first theater in the US to show Mexican movies exclusively. Back then film stars often showed up for the premiers in what film historians call the "Mexico's Golden Age of Cinema. Today it has bands, comedy, etc., and is still open to the public and for private events.
