Wow, I was just thinking that it looked pretty old and rusty, and then I read your description and went 'phew!'. Do you know if they are going to take it down or will they just leave it to continue to fall apart.

It's still owned by Union Pacific RR and can't say what they'll do with it. I have seen pics of it closed, though it is mainly left open. It has a lot of history; the first bridge was built in 1873 and this one replaced it in 1906
